Looking For Some New Resources

Tired of using the same old sites, but overwhelmed by the the generic google search.  Here are some new links that you might want to take a look at!


1.      How Things Fly by the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum – http://howthingsfly.si.edu -  Hands on Experiences investigation the science of flight.  Lessons include video, simulations, experiments and activities.
2.     Flash Animations for Physics – Over 99 different animations for various topics in your physics class.  http://bit.ly/3t12Qd
3.      Learn Chemistry - www.rsc.org/learn-chemistry - A website from the Royal Society of Chemistry that includes videos, simulations and games to encourage student interaction with Chemistry.  Also includes an online data base for easy student access.
4.      Fresh and Salt – http://bit.ly/yRb8Eb - simulations, data interpretations, experiments and investigations for grades 5-10 for understanding Great Lakes and Ocean principles.
5.      Discover Water – www.DiscoverWater.org – A website created by Project Wet that includes illustrations, videos, animations, and student activities for everything water.
6.      Aerospace Simulation App – The app from NASA includes many simulations and project ideas.  Get it at http://bit.ly/uGh1Af .
7.       “Survival” an Endangered Animal App – Created by the wildlife charity Wildscreen, this app has students race against the clock to beat mini-games and help an endangered animal survive.  To play the game go to http://bit.ly/uVP2fB or to download the app for Apple: http://bit.ly/rqGsrq and for Android: http://bit.ly/szBAKL.
8.      Life Science Games for Middle School – www.fllamentgames.com/store - Developed  by Filament Games with funding from the US Dept. of Ed, the three games: Cell Command (cell theory), Crazy Plant Shop  (plant genetics), and You Make Me Sick (bacteria and viruses) allow students to explore these topics in a fun way.  The initial levels of the games are free.
9.     Nab the Aquatic Invader – www.iisgcp.org/NabInvader - This NOAA developed website includes games and activities were students have to nab invaders to the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the Great Lakes.  For grades 4-10.
